Summary: Patrick Bateman, a young, well to do man working on wall street at his father's company kills for no reason at all. As his life progresses his hatred for the world becomes more and more intense. Based on the book by Bret Easton Ellis. (imdb)
Very fun idea and really good execution. This is one of those movies I would invest another 2 hours into. This made me delve into other Christian Bale stuff, he is a great actor!
Really up there with the best. Although by no means as good, or as nonlinear as Mulholland Drive, this film could certainly be described as a twisted masterpiece. Some will be frustrated by the vague ending, but others will appreciate the film all the more for it. Bale, Theroux, Leto and Dafoe are all excellent.
Not for the squeamish, this is a good movie that has been adapted from a good book. There were some changes that I wasn't happy with, but on the whole it stayed relatively true to the source material. Christian Bale is a stand out. If you like your movies a bit violent and twisted this is for you.
Excellent movie. The acting, directing and plot are great. I can't believe I had to giggle a few times during some brutal moments, and during the businesscard scene
Recently rewatched this for the (5th, 6th?) time after finishing Bret Easton Ellis's fantastic novel and it became so much better. Murder has never been so funny. One of the darkest comedies you will ever see and the social critique is great. The sheer ridiculousness of every situation, every person, and every thing that happens makes it impossible for me to not love. The scene with Jared Leto in his apartment is so great. TRY GETTING A RESERVATION AT DORSIA NOW YOU FUCKING STUPID BASTARD!
Clever, witty, intense and refreshing, American Psycho gives us a whole new take on the serial killer. Christian Bale gives the performance of his career, managing to be both likable and haunting. Eccentric but never overly so, American Psycho is a thrilling ride that may not be for the squeemish, but is definitely reccomend for everyone else.
