Summary: Inspired by a true story, AMERICAN VIOLET follows the struggle of a young single African-American mother to clear her name after being wrongly accused and arrested for dealing drugs in an impoverished town in Texas. An honest woman with a clean record and no hard evidence to justify the accusation, she is forced to make the most difficult decision of her life - to risk everything she has in order fight unfair prosecution and the criminal justice system.
