this cannot be called a train wreck..I dont think this train ever made the tracks...it was pushed back three times..and that is when I knew what was coming and it did not disappoint. This movie is just a failed attempt...
Aside from a creepy sequence involving the clown of the film's poster sitting in a rocking chair, director Simpson shows little understanding of atmospheric composition - just trivial knowledge of B-horror tropes. The consequence? Amusement is narratively nonsensical, with one of the lamest villains in recent memory.
The ending sucks; the first half, while certainly better, still isn't very good. It had potential, but poor writing leads to bad characters leads to me wanting to watch something else. If this was a slasher instead of a thriller, the bad writing wouldn't have mattered as much; but to make a good thriller, you need solid characters to get people invested, so we care about what happens. This movie failed to deliver character I care about, so I didn't care what happened to them.
Even though this wasn't anything spectacular, I thought that this was decent. I don't think it would have worked too well on the big screen as that was what this was originally for. The first 45 minutes really had me going on the edge of my seat. I loved the convoy with the twist at the end of that scene and the straight out killer clown in the next. I did not like the Lisa character as she wasn't written too intelligently. Overall, this is a very simple straightforward slasher movie.
"He just wants to play." I'm probably one of the mere five or six people in the world, who actually like this. Somewhat. Great suspense the first 45 minutes, amazing set designs and refreshingly little heavy-handed backstory (one three minute flashback is all that's needed!). Shame it gets (way) too muddled and (way) too predictable in the second half. Lisa was a waste of space.
Not the worst horror/thriller movie I have ever seen, but it wasn't the greatest either. It was a decent use of time though. Really one a person has to give a shot just to find out what they will think.
As a horror movie this was really crappy one. There was a plot for nothing. But I have to admit I enjoyed the dark, endless mazes and old, rusty mechanical equipments which had just a fade connection to the stories in the beginning. Very well done sets.
