A stylish version of the Agatha Christie play. Barry Fitzgerald's performance is particularly good.

I've always loved the works of Agatha Christie and this film adaptation of Ten Little Indians is first rate.

Agatha Christie adaptations are often silly whodunits, but René Clair's elegant direction truly makes this pure, cynical fun and clearly among the best of them. The way the characters introduce themselves directly into the camera in the beginning, not to mention the scene where four of the male characters are spying on one another, two of them through separate peep holes at same time, is inspired filmmaking. The ending could have been darker, though.

It would have been better with the ending of the novel rather than the play, but up until that point it's a typically well-crafted Christie mystery that's legitimately hard to figure out. Not as scary as you'd expect (and probably hope for), given the claustrophobic nature of the plot.

Not anything like the book ... but if you liked the book it can still be somewhat fun, but admittedly, not very good.

Pretty good murder mystery, keeps you guessing throughout. The ending is too Hollywood to be satisfying (apparently changed from the darker ending of the Christie novel) but the rest of it is worthwhile. Technically, the film is uneven... there are some very clever shots, but also quite of bad over-dubbing (or sound sync problems).

Probably the best of the many film versions of Agatha Christie's "Ten Little Indians". Stuffed with great visual ideas and delicious black humor

Christie's mystery is magnificent, but the dark humor and intriguing plot twits aren't enough to save this movie from the annoyingly bad acting. The ending is also not as good as the original, and the bad execution takes away from the film.

I would've preferred the original ending (as opposed to this softer one that Christie wrote for the 1943 play), but for the most part this is a top notch murder mystery with some iconic moments.

A classic mystery novel is here adapted and directed with the utmost care to provide playful black comedy, stylish puzzlement, and some splendid acting cameos.
