Now the original Annie was felt ripe for a remake as it had been a bit too sweet. - So Disney take it and smother the original in another three layers of sacharin. Now Disney do great films, but unfortunately this isn't one of them. It falls short of the musical mark without real improvement on the original. - Should come with its own diabetic nurse.
I actually quite enjoy it. Much better than the movie from the '80s, this features a much better Annie, and a wonderful trio in Kathy Bates, Alan Cumming, and Kristin Chenoweth, who are totally in their element here. This version of "Easy Street" is one of my favorite live-action musical sequences.
