Summary: Appu (Mohanlal), an orphaned young man, considers the mother-in-law (K.R. Vijaya) of CI Gopan (Murali), of the Mangalathu family, as a mother figure. Looking to get a job as a driver in Dubai, Appu dumps his blacksmithing trade & learns driving. One night, he witnesses 3 people trying to dispose of the corpse of a dancer, Sugandhi, & reports it to Gopan. Sugandhi's killers turn out to be Gopan's friends, so Gopan frames Appu for it & gets him jailed. Appu escapes from jail to vindicate himself. (by iceblox)
