A paean to adolescent romantic fantasia, Aquamarine thoughtfully and convincingly channels the spirit of its built-in tween girl fan base without isolating other prospective fans, its depth of feeling and convergence of numerous admirable traits seeing that Elizabeth Allen's superficially lightweight female empowerment piece qualifies the most guilt-free guilty pleasure this rural male's eyes has ever come across. It's genuinely wonderful.

Film intended solely for teenage female audience. Totally retarded.

A teensy weensy chick flick and a pretty shallow one at that.

"Look at me, I'm soooo pretty cause I'm lyk a mermaaaaaaaid"

I thought this movie would be one of those that distorts pre-teen girls view of romance and the world, but it actually has a girl -er mermaid- with these distorted views that wises up a wee bit. It's still too cliche & cheesy for it's own good. And I can't recommend it to anyone outside of the obvious demographic but it is one of the better movies aimed at said demographic if that counts for anything

I'm too old and too male for this one. That said there's some decent acting in it and it has its cute moments. If your older than 8th grade its probably not for you though

I wish all mermaids to be dead because of this, not you Ariel, you're my favourite one!
