Summary: Orphaned Auto rickshaw driver Sudhi (Mohanlal) falls in love with unparented rich girl Meenakshi aka Meenu (Rekha) & initially face stiff opposition from her grandparents & family friends. Meenu's grandpa finally sides with her & arrange for them to get secretly married, but their relative Bhadran (Murali), who had an eye on Meenu but was earlier snubbed by her, abducts her.
