If ET was a dinosaur, this would be his movie. Would have been better if there were more Reeses Pieces to find. I loved it when I was 8. I'm not 8 anymore.

_Bambi_ meets _Godzilla_ in this minor Disney flick. Sometimes amusing and with variable special FX, but after all the _E.T._-style cuteness the violent ending makes you wonder just what audience this was shooting for.

A pre-"Jurassic Park" attempt at creating a dino movie hit. While the animatronics do seem a bit dated, this family epic still delivers its goods, especially when it comes to Jerry Goldsmith's excellent score. A forgotten adventure of the 80's that's well worth a look.

Dopey but it's for kids which makes the drugs, sex, violence and nudity all the weirder. Granted sex is off camera and nudity is indigenous but it's Disney boobies all the same. It is very Walt Disney meets Steven Spielberg but rather violent with several on screen deaths, blood and people catching on fire! For a kid's movie it's rather brutal and the rubber dino's are laughable if you're over the age of five so I don't know who the audiences was for this one.

I don't remember a whole lot about this as I haven't seen it since I was quite young, but I do recall enjoying it a lot. The DVD cover proclaims, "A cross between Raiders of the Lost Ark and E.T.!" Ha, not quite. But still a good movie for kids, I suppose.

The creatures -- as light on their feet as marionettes, but as lubberly in movement as if they all slept wrong and had stiff necks -- are not good enough technically for us to regret that they aren't made more use of. There is perhaps just one moment of regret for what might have been, when the mother, having been zapped with tranquilizer darts every few minutes, is finally untrussed to go in pursuit of her kidnapped baby: "Sick 'em!"
