Seasons: 1, Episodes: 2 Episode List
Each of the stories in the series involves several unrelated plots intersecting and crossing each other as events spiral farther and farther out of control. Magic, mafia operated speakeasies, and many other elements of pulp fiction mashed together for a world straight out of the movies. (Anime News Network)

Needlessly convoluted telling of an unimpressive story. Only worth it for the character name "Jacuzzi Splot."

An excellent anime and a great examination on the nature of storytelling.

Needlessly convoluted style-over-substance garbage that somehow gets hailed as a modern classic.

The opening is amazing...unfortunately it's downhill from there.

I probably would have thought this was great when I was 15, but alas... Characters are set up, only to fold in on themselves and never exceed their archetypal trappings. The plot is rapid and purposefully convoluted, though not in a way that really augments the story. If anything, the disjointed story structure reads more as a gimmick and nothing more. Throw in some weird plot about immortality and OP characters with shallow, deluded stabs at philosophy and you get Baccano!

For some reason, I could never get into the show. I liked the cast of characters and the world they lived in seemed interesting, but nothing really ever came together. Maybe the light novels are better.

People love to talks about like this is the first "tie-in/crossover" type storry telling job but its not and its not even good at it. Bunch of bla bla. No morals, no goals, just a show.
