Superbad meets Bridesmaids, without the humor and compelling story and performances. Barely mediocre. With all of this talent, it should really be a lot better.

I cannot articulate, exactly, why I liked this so much. But it was livelier, funnier, more energetic and more potent than BRIDESMAIDS. Plus BRIDESMAIDS didn't have Lizzy frigging Caplan.

It's okay, nothing more. Kind of like a failed attempt to do a Hangover - just with women. Just that it's not nearly as funny and sadly, they never get over stupid stereotypes. Like why do women in every single movie that has a wedding have to be begrudging super bitches? That's the only reason the protagonists fuck up here. Not because they overdose on wanting to have fun but because they can't be happy for a friend. Great message, really.

It's like Lord of the Rings if the ring was a dress and instead of needing to destroy it, they need to get it fixed and instead of a collection of brave warriors they're a collection of the worst friends imaginable and instead of orcs there are exes and instead of Balrog there's a bouncer and instead of you know what? It's not like Lord of the Rings.

A completely soulless and obnoxious attempt to cash in on the Hangover/Bridesmaids wave. Almost every single character in this film is a complete asshole, and almost all the jokes are sickeningly crass, and plainly unfunny. Seems to be loaded with inappropriate sexual references just so the film will be perceived as "edgy", and it's a strange and unrewarding experience. Rarely a film makes me want to leave the theater. Bachelorette did. And I wish I had.

the Anti-Bridesmaids. It's not as gut -bustingly funny, but it's still pretty funny, and it hits those melodramatic personal scenes with more realism, I suppose. There are way worse comedies

BACHELORETTE gets off to an unpromising start, too frenzied and too chaotic; the characters are haphazardly set up and the story seems to be headed nowhere in particular. But then, when the wedding gown is ruined, things begin cooking, and by the end, one is rather touched by it all--and one has laughed. Kirsten Dunst is underused and Isla Fisher is annoying in a poorly-written role, but Lizzy Caplan brings real poignancy to the table, and Adam Scott scores as the man she both loves and hates.

As a comedy, Bachelorette comes close to failing. As chaotic as the situations are, they aren't funny so much as mildly amusing. However, buried in the in the cruelty that these female characters show toward each other (even though they are suppose to be best friends) there is some shockingly real drama. As much as I wanted to hate the film, these scenes work very well.

A bunch of unlikeable (but extremely well-cast) characters get into generally unfunny hijinks.

While Bridesmaids might have had more quotable moments of dialogue, this is definitely a slightly better and more cohesively rendered film overall.

I liked it. It wasn't particularly funny, but it was just entertaining. Goodlooking people acting openly despicable in sorta charming ways for 90 minutes. And plus yes it has Lizzy Caplan.

It's unfortunate that the film tries too hard to redeem its characters in its third act as if to make up for all the nastiness that comes before. Because the film really shines when it is being scathing, contemptible, and brutally honest with its trio of loathsome characters. Had this film had the courage to go all the way in its witty mean-spiritedness, it could have been great instead of merely good. Dunst gives an underrated performance as the bitter and miserable queen bitch.

Pretty by the books. Not as funny as Bridesmaids last year, but not terrible either.

While most of it is idiotic romcom fare, Caplan and Scott predictably deliver. BRING BACK PARTY DOWN!

I think I liked Bridesmaids better than this film about some crazy gals at a wedding. There were some funny moments and I did like all the actors in the film. Lizzy Caplan was probably my favorite, followed by Isla Fisher and Kirsten Dunst. As far as the guys in the cast Adam Scott and James Marsden were awesome. My favorite scenes were with Caplan in the airplane and all the scenes involving the dress getting destroyed. This shows that no matter how bad things get, weddings still can happen.

So mean-spirited and abrasive in every way -- Rebel Wilson is getting married, but her friends are more interested in doing cocaine, flirting, drinking and making themselves feel even more miserable -- that it actually makes the case for a pretty funny and often dramatic bridesmaids comedy.

Bachelorette places a trio of women front and center who are so irredeemably loathsome, it's kind of refreshing. At least until a conventional third-act redemption undercuts some of the movie's sharpest insights and funniest jokes.

Beautiful cringe comedy that is so bleak you sometimes don't even realize the characters' layers of despair and repressed self-hatred underneath certain jokes.

This features three of the most unsympathetic characters I've seen in a movie - Fisher, Caplan and Dunst's characters are completely self-obsessed, jealous, incapable of being happy even for one of their best friends, and just plain nasty. I got the impression it was trying to be a bit like Bridesmaids, but sadly it had none of that film's charm.

Really hard to enjoy, thanks to unlikeable main characters, uninteresting hijinks, and distasteful attempts at humour. It seems to be a problem in tone management though, because underneath its sickening candy comedy shell is a rather intriguing web of dark character drama (see the eating disorder cover-up, drug addiction, and tale of a suicide attempt). The overdose to ambulance ride sequence feels like it finds the right groove but it's overshadowed by a shallow shrug-it-off ending.
