Stark stupor. Shot in dingy black and white, the attention to stillness and the corrosive, buzzing soundtrack reminded me of Eraserhead, Reflections of Evil and Chronicle of Corpses. If you've seen any of those, you get the idea --it's a tough sit. The unreleased violence that's always felt makes for a disturbing experience, if you can stay awake through droning dialogue spaced with long pauses and abstract imagery.
