Easily one of the craziest movies I've ever seen. Remarkable how Jackson, working with a low budget and a bunch of friends, crafts such a wildly entertaining and original movie. There is more fun involved here than most big budget blockbusters, and of course Jackson's trademark gore is in full force here, although on a lesser scale than Dead/Alive.
Before Peter Jackson became a big time respected director he was churning out campy B-movie flicks such as this. Bad Taste isn't terrible since it's a pretty good example of what can be done on almost a non-existent budget. The effects are hilarious though and the movie definitely doesn't take itself too seriously.
It's porn, they just substituted blood for cum. Everything else is about the same as in a porn movie, low budget, crappy storyline, and special effects for the sake of them. I think it's supposed to be funny, but I don't get it. It might be just me though. I'm not a fan of slapstick humor, especially not such an extreme one.
Very, very entertaining. That Peter Jackson could make a movie this good in spite of all the hurdles is both inspiring and a testament to his skill as a director and flair for gory fun. I hope he returns to this type of thing sooner or later.
Mmmmm! Humans! Deliciously gory! The last few scenes of this movie are exceptionally weird with the house flying off the ground and Peter Jackson saying "i'm coming to get you", the rest is a standard gorefest. But its actually pretty funny, drinking the humans and liking it. Good job, Petey.
So bizarre. I'd no idea what I was getting into when I saw this. (If anyone is wondering how to get a copy, subscribe your iTunes to the "Cult of UHF" podcast.) It's interesting for many reasons: to see Peter Jackson hone his filmmaking craft; to see how to make a film on a shoestring budget; to see how many interesting ways there are to kill alien zombies; to see how many ways there are to get grossed out. But let's be honest--interesting as it is, it wasn't meant to be a good film and isn't.
