Bandidas

Not great, but no worse than countless crappy westerns that have been made over the years, and the leads are easier on the eyes than in any of those. And it's nice to have a "hurray, Mexico" message for once.

Bandidas isn't a bad movie, as it's never boring, but it isn't all that memorable, and it misses opportunities left and right while it's playing. The actors have fun, but have little depth to their performances or characters, and any potential issues that are brought up by the plot are ignored in favor of our two leads going around robbing banks. That's fun, and it makes for a good enough popcorn flick, but that's as good as it gets, and you'll likely forget it the next day.

The premise of having Salma and Penelope wear revealing clothing is just great. Did it have a plot and other actors?

Reasonable movie. Has some humour and action. Even a pretty good storyline behind it. All-in-all nice to watch. The movie is about a rich girl and a poor girl, that ultimately join in the fight against wrong in the wild west.

It should be a crime to make a film with Hayek and Cruz and make them completely unappealing visually: alas, they took these two and dressed 'em up like the corky from Deadwood. The version of this film directed by my mind is infinitely superior, and we save alot of money on costumes and sets and--lesbian porno.

It's uneven and has some cringeworthy moments, but all in all it's a watchable popcorn flick.

Mildly enjoyable for all the wrong ( or right depending on how you look at it) reasons. Yes, Hayek and Cruz are hot, but not that hot, especially in this movie, and the plot is an absolutely ludicrous and underdeveloped mess.

Come on people 21% average, it's just a fun movie, which was clearly made not to be taken seriously. The two leads have really good chemistry and look pretty good doing it. Yes, some of the jokes/gags are corny as fuck, but everyone needs a little corn in their diet once in a while.

Good mindless fun starring two very attractive southern belles.

A farsical plot of two ladies who become bank robbers to overcome corruption and dysfunctional Mexican government. Sometimes silly but eminently watchable movie with two excellent and beautiful women, Salma Hayek and Penelope Cruz. There are quite a few over the top scenes, but it holds your interest and remains engaging even though it is pretty far fetched.

If you allow yourself to believe the romance is strictly between the two charismatic leads, using Steve Zahn as an outlet for their repressed lesbian passion, the film becomes a lot more charming, because the heterosexual angle is pretty uncomfortable. A fun, shallow little film.

Surprisingly flat and lifeless attempt to put a female spin on the Leone western, reimagined as a modern buddy comedy, wastes the talents of its leading ladies, whose chemistry with each other (and a dull Zahn) never ignites above tepid; Yoakam’s villain is similarly unfocused and lacking the incandescence of (say) Eli Wallach, which might have given this a kick start. Some pretty scenery and a generally amiable sensibility at least makes it fairly painless.

Well, it does have tits, but yeah. . .

Bandidas was probably a fun film for everyone involved to make, but unfortunately that fun didn't spill over to the big screen to include us in. Westerns have been stylized and spoofed to the point of sheer absurdity, so to make any lasting impact, a new spin or direction is needed to give us something we haven't seen before. Bandidas just gives us more of the same. Unless you have some fetish to see Cruz and Hayek dressed up as cowgirls, Bandidas will rob you of your time and your money.

Hot leading couple! Not that hot story.

The only thing worth remembering are the bandidas' boobs.

Two divas in one movie. What more do you want.

Salma Hayek and Penelope Cruz together make for some serious eye-candy. It's a shame the story didn't live up to the billing.

A huge waste of film. Pointless.

This could have been a smoldering, fun film had Cruz and Hayek been used to their full potential. Well, in a way I guess it's still sexy and special, but not how one would hope. The style is over-the-top; there's too many slow-motion, cliche-riddled fights and action sequences. Top it off with bad acting, cheap-looking costumes and makeup, plus awful accents apart from the two stars and you wind up with an unfocused mess. Should have been much better with the capable writers and cast involved.

Steve Zahn ruins everything

Bad performances and bad story.

The movie is a total loss of time, unless you like seeing just beautiful women and no content.
