Probably the best paced of the Bugs shorts, with great use of offscreen space. It's also one of the funniest.

Absolutely classic. One hilarious gag after another without anything feeling extraneous. I can't believe it's not talked about more. This is the "What's Opera, Doc?" of the common man.

Wherein we learn that all debates as to the greatest baseball player ever are futile, since the answer obviously has to be That Screwy Wabbit. I mean, he's his own catcher!--he strikes out the side with one pitch!--and he takes a bus to catch a fly ball (although kudos are in order as well for the ump who stays with him to make the "out" call, high atop the Empire State Building). Also loved the "Was this trip really necessary?" WWII rationing reference.

Classic Looney Tunes short. Pretty good all the way through, except the end which is a bit too silly.

They could have done far more with the baseball premise beyond the few, simple gags they kept repeating, but I like the caricatures they used for the evil Gashouse Gorillas team; huge, unshaven, dirty louts smoking cigars! While there are a lot of cheap plays on words (bat boy, screaming ball), at least they were trying throughout, with rarely a dull moment...unlike later Bugs cartoons. And besides, for kids, it was still entertaining enough.
