Not as good as some of the others, but still a great twisted vision from Tim Burton. And Pfeiffer is bad ass as cat woman

Batman Returns is definitely the best Batman flick. Dark and cool with a good cast up ahead Danny De Vito as Penguin!

Perhaps I'm overrating this one slightly but I love the Michael Keaton/Tim Burton Batman movies so much. How can you not like this one, though? Two brilliant comic book performances from Michelle Pfeiffer and Danny D, plus Keaton and Christopher Walken, all set against the backdrop of Burton's awesome vision of Gotham City.

When Pfeiffer understands Catwoman's spirit like this, I can only LOVE it! DeVito's Penguin is a wonderful adult portrayal for kids. Great memories. I often rewatch it.

Dark and silly it kind of works but not completely. As an enjoyable experience it's good because of Walken, Devito and Pfeiffer creating entertaining and memorable characters. But on any deeper level, even just as an adventure/action film, it falters because the film doesn't have a consistent enough tone to give the plot developments weight.

Batman encounters a giant dude, punches him, realizes his fists have no effect, attaches dynamite that he happened to be carrying to the giant man's chest, and throws him in a sewer where he blows up. Then he smirks. I bet there are some nerds online what HATE this moment.

Nothing makes any sense in this movie, the story, the character motivations, the physics of the action scenes, but some parts do have some of that distinctive Burton flavor. Lacks the operatic grandeur that Nicholson's Joker gave to Batman.
