The Asylum does it again. One of their better mockbusters of the year, "Battle OF LA" manages to be more entertaining than the original in the first ten minutes but seeing as that was one of the worst films of the year so far, that's not a great achievement.

At least they upped the budget from ridiculously slim to very slim, but the flick still manages to look like it was rendered in Windows '95. And don't forget the cheesy nods to better movies than theirs. I'm glad these guys are able to make themselves chuckle at their shit efforts. I guess it's our duty as so-called critics to be willing to give more chances - but these guys just don't get it. They're not quite spoof, they're not quite legit movie; they consistently fail at trying to be both.

Imagine Independence Day with terrible effects, terrible scripting, and terrible actors. I imagine half the people who watch this will have been tricked into it by the title.

Sometimes you watch an Asylum movie hoping it'll get better, and then you realize your mistake.
