what starts out seeming semi uninteresting and bland turns into what is a solid war flick. considering the proximity to the year in which it took place i was pretty impressed with this movie.

Pretty open, but it could be less saccharine. Stalag 17 was only four years after this. However, the Korean War does make up that space. Marking this for a rewatch.
