Quite a good, but pretty unnecessary, backtracking of the Battlestar storyline. Seems only to exist in order to give the principal crew of Pegasus more screen time.

I enjoy the series so more of it is a good thing.

Pretty good as its own story. The problem is that the flick was released so long after the Cain/Pegasus plotline had passed that it couldn't hold my interest. Excepting a revelation at the end of the program, there isn't much to bridge the gap between Seasons 3 and 4 (when the movie was released). Consequently, there isn't very much momentum. Why dwell on an old storyline- interesting as it was- instead of pressing into brand new territory?

More entertaining stuff from the Galactica team. It never reaches the phenomenal heights of the series, and does have the feel of being a little bit of an after-thought by the production team, but none the less this is still high quality sci-fi. As you would expect it's well written, well performed and looks great, but does feel a little on the short side. "Razor" sets up the Fourth Season well and adds a nice extra layer depth to the Galactica Universe.

Judged on its own, this is less interesting than the television series, and is at times off-putting, due to the endless procession of highly psychopathic behaviour and characters, and some weak performances (especially by Stephanie Jacobsen).

Acceptable, but is it really a movie?

loved it just because it was Battlestar Galactica... but overall not nearly as interesting...

Further evidence that Eick and Moore have run out of ideas, and are milking BSG for all they can. Mind you, I still enjoy this mythos and these characters, but prequels suck even worse than sequels do. The whole "do you need to be forgiven" bit in particular screams for rewrite or ruthless excision

Introduced me to the beautiful Stephanie Jacobsen.

Probably the best sci-fi series ever. Even better than Babylon 5, Firefly or Space 1999.

it was nice to watch in between seasons but it was a lot worse than the episodes

Just as great as the miniseries, but even more hardhitting. It gets you in the gut.

The hokey classic Cylon fanservice is pretty odd considering it's for a fanbase that absolutely loathes the modern BSG. Stephanie Jacobsen's character is awesome. Wish she'd been in the show.

Disappointing. Very poor production value, little attention or respect paid to the set design.

Decent enough filler between series but we want the real deal of season 4.

quite a letdown from the great tv series

good enough two-part episode not deserving of the fanfare and early hype as a mini-movie, but the most revealing bsg work in terms of its (unintentionally) negative and simple-minded portrayal of women. i'm giving it a positive rating anyway because i'm a nerd but i'm continuously fascinated by how poor this show is at "empowering" its female characters. especially distressing after the subversive new caprica episodes (how does it feel sympathizing with the insurgents?)

BSG is an addicting TV series. This movie is interesting but lacks the charisma from the TV series

Much better than the miniseries, but definitely more of a supplement to the overall show. The flashbacks were the best part.
