not bad

Begins well, with an intriguing premise (and style reminiscent of Lynch) but increasingly loses its grip as red herrings are quickly picked up and discarded, lurid material is lingered over, and a final inexplicable conclusion is reached which feels like a bad shaggy dog story. Thankfully performances are generally fine, with Gregory especially good, and Furness and Wilson providing solid support. O'Flaherty shows a fine director's eye (except for that strange black-and-white jumpy sequence).
