Pretty good, but terribly predictable and formulated. Diane Keaton is nerve-wrackingly annoying as the mother, and Mandy Moore played the perfect ditzy daughter. Cute rom-com, but not that memorable.

A decent sounding premise, a mom trying to find Mr. Right for her last unmarried daughter turned into a horrible movie. The mother-daughter relationship is so dysfunctional that mending it seems hacked together. The comedic moments were boring or crude. Diane Keaton must have phoned in this performance. Mandy Moore seemed like she was just in there to remind people that she was a singer. The only "good" performance was by the guy who plays the dad in "7th Heaven", and even that wasn't great.

Lame, stupid, boring. The only redeemable quality of this movie is the fact that this time it's the woman who's cheating and lying which is a nice change. However, that is NOT a reason to watch this. Avoid.

Maybe because I watched it with my girlfriend in Sunday evening, I liked it. And if you think you have difficult mother, watch this movie.

Complete waste of time, dont even watch this movie. Extremely predictable movie filled with clichés. I couldnt watch this movie in a single sitting.

The acting was poor. The plot was decent.

There is genre that are difficult to be wrong, but it succeeded because with all this predictability, added to the ton of clichés, exaggerated performances and jokes completely without grace.

Shit film.

Middling but passable rom-com which is helped by enjoyable performances from both Moore and Keaton, though both are saddled with doggedly unlikable and obnoxious characters; it's a testament to the likability of these two stars that they remain watchable nonetheless, though the sex-talk between Keaton and her daughters crosses the line from liberal openness to the stuff of nightmares! Has some amusing moments, though the screenplay is pretty clumsy and heavy-handed for the most part.

Better than I'd expected. Again, not a favorite-favorite, but it was still fun and cute story lines.

it had its moments, though they were few and far between, and had the potential to be better. One scene I liked, though I hated the way it was arrived upon (sloppy and forced) was the bit of bonding between Mandy and Diane in her apartment. And Gabrial Macht's character, while not all man, was an interesting break from the typical romantic comedy lead.

Very Boring.

The problem with Because I Said So isn't that it's formulaic and predictable; fans of romantic comedy can get around those qualities, and even appreciate them. It's that the film keeps missing out on its own opportunities for comic gold.
