Summary: Beer, broads and baseball combine with hilarious results in Artie Lange's Beer League, an over-the-top comedy about a group of misfits whose weekly softball games seem to have a lot more to do with getting into fights for macho dominance than hitting home runs. It's really Artie Lange: The Movie, and even if it doesn't aim for the classy jokes or, well, any class at all, I still had a fun time. And I don't even like baseball!

Well you kinda know what you are getting with this film. I am a fan of Lange in small portions (such as his work with Howard Stern). This though at times was just seemed to be too much of the semi-vulgar Lange comedy. My date did watch most of it and actually laughed in some spots. There were humorous spots, but honestly I never see myself watching this film again. Personally I don't think Lange can carry a film as a lead. He just isn't Norm MacDonald.

Crude, spotty comedy which actually works quite well, thanks largely to a likable lead performance from Lange, and a good supporting cast which brings a freshness to admittedly overly familiar formulaic elements; the always reliable Cassel is worth the price of admission. Good fun, if you're of the mind-set to enjoy it.

Artie Lange does a decent job, not as funny as Dirty Work but still worthwhile.
