Exciting short. The music is great enough to keep your attention, and the animation is fantastically rhythmic and imaginitive.

Um, not even arthouse! Just pointless

Exciting animation technique with brilliant and varied use of bright colors, shapes and textures, synched to an emotive jazz piano score. Definitely worth 8 minutes of your time.

The changing colors and hyper fast scribbles irritated the absolute hell out of my eyes; I had to stop watching about a minute in. But even beyond the desire of this cartoon to give some poor kid a seizure, not everyone in this world can be a Kandinsky. And the creators of this film don't even come close. It's just shit.

Fun, energetic and exciting. It loses me a bit in the middle section, but the rest of it is great.

I'm generally not into this kind of stuff, but the music is phenomenal and the abstract nature of the short never feels pretentious (gasp!).

A wonderful combination of music and paintings, "BDC" is an upbeat and constantly interesting, as well as imaginative and creative film.

Although I'd say I prefer Poulette by a fraction, there's no denying the artistry here. A perfect marriage of music and image, where the schizophrenic use of animation techniques mirrors the improv nature of the Oscar Peterson Trio jazz score. The melancholy middle section leaves you completely unprepared for the stunning abstract frenzy that follows.

Abstract art drawn directly onto film speeds frenziedly along to a major-key jazz tune by the Oscar Peterson Trio. The world needs more such unadulterated works of pure video art, that are also this exciting.

This is probably the only purely abstract film I've ever enjoyed. In the process of watching this short, you almost forget how it was made (painting and scratching directly on the film strips). The animation and music sync up perfectly, but it's fun to mute it and put on your own music to see how your perspective on the synchronization changes. This interesting, avant-garde and unusual short fills me with Canadian pride.

I'm not hugely into experimental film but this one was fantastic. The jazzy tune is highly enjoyable, even to someone like myself who isn't a jazz enthusiast, and the images on screen are wonderfully expressionist and really fit the music well. I suppose if this was a longer film I would eventually get tired but as it stands it's short, sweet colourful fun.

A synesthetic marvel, and maybe one of the most purely timeless films I've seen. The drawn on film technique and the abstract presentation completely free the images from any particular era.

Beautiful abstract images leave you with something to think about. How does it fit in with the wonderful score? That's part of the beauty of it. If you didn't know how this was done, especially in this day and age, you may not appreciate it as it should be because it is experimental and artist intent is important here. But even so, as a couple other people said, a great marriage of music and image. Powerful and avant-garde.
