This refresher of the first third of the series can be gorgeous at times, but you're going to have to slug through some some dated looking CGI. Makes you wonder why they'd bother including it, when the 2D scenes look so darn good. While I understand things needed to be cut, the 80 min run time doesn't allow for much besides battles, secondary characters are underused, and most of the literal guts of the story are left out.
Yesssssssss!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I've waited so long for Berserk to continue or to be remade! The story was somewhat shortened, but the plot remains amazingly thrilling and brilliant! Everyone should see this!
I've never seen or read any Berserk before, but this definitely made me want more. Bit of a Fire Emblem-y atmosphere, but with more brütal violence. The CGI doesn't always look that hot and gives the whole thing a videogame-cutscene-feel at times. Still, there's a lot of potential in the setting and I can't wait to see where this is going.
definitely a boys sort of movie, but since I am a boy, I was pretty satisfied with it. Great animation (though frame-rate is sloppy), good battle scenes, cool gory moments, and the ending was written in a way that makes it particularly inspiring.
