A weird little fairy tale anticipation of Planet of the Apes and 12 Monkeys. The obsessive repetition of threes is ambitious, and the prescient ozone layer disaster is really jarring.

Shot back to back with _The Amazing Transparent Man_, this is something of an improvement, with some imaginative direction and solid acting to offset the corny dialogue and familiar situations. Like _Transparent Man_, though, this often bleak movie wears its nihilism on its sleeve.
