Summary: Middle class man Haridas (Jagadish) marries Shailaja (Urvashi), who was born & brought up in a wealthy family. After the marriage, Shailaja is unable to adjust to the modest ways of Haridas's household, & in an attempt to get Haridas under her control, she rebels & finally forces Haridas to separate from his joint family & move to a rented house with her.
