Summary: Maheendra Varma (Mohanlal) gets appointed as the state Home Minister, after his aristocratic father Valiya Thampuran (Adoor Bhasi) bribes the Chief Minister (Balan K. Nair) & the party president (K.P.A.C. Sunny) to make it happen. However, after assuming power, Maheendra Varma now has to antagonize the Chief Minister & his coterie to hang onto power. Complicating things were his intention of protecting his old friend Jayan (Suresh Gopi), now a radical & on the run from the law for killing a cop. (by iceblox)
