Atypical late John Wayne flick. Entertaining enough, I suppose.

OK but a bit over-long and really wrings out the last of the John Wayne persona. Not his best and the weaker for a plot that would struggle to sustain a short story.

Haha, John Wayne sure got fat in his later years. I actually prefer his older, beaten down persona over the youthful swagger and this is a pretty good movie.

My most-watched and most enjoyed John Wayne film. Maureen O'Hara is sensational and John Wayne has some unforgettable lines. "Now you understand...." his comeback to Richard Boone is great! Some of the animal action is a little politically incorrect when viewed 40 years later, but necessary inn the context of the story. One can just imagine being Jacob McCandles' son while watching this movie and wondering how you would react in the same situation. Worth watching!
