I don't really go for over-opinionated preachy stand-ups at the best of times but Hicks takes the biscuit here by almost managing to avoid telling a single joke during the entire performance. Moans about 'sell-out' artists yet once again recycles half his set from previous gigs performed years before. That snorting into the mic thing is fucking annoying too. Considering his legendary status I can only guess his audio files are miles better than anything he ever did in front of camera.

Bill Hicks has me split. On one hand he's hilarious and actually has me thinking about larger concepts, but on the other he's tries to be such a bad boy and his overly-preachy philosophy becomes annoying. But Maynard James Keenan is fan, so I guess Hicks was doing something right.

Not really funny, but mainly inspiring and brain-expanding. But this seems a little more dead than your usual stand-up show: Hicks gives a tireless performance, but at times he looks a little unsure of himself. And the Goatboy sections I could really do without, even though I love the voice.

I actually prefer listening to "Arizona Bay" rather than watching this, but it definitely has some of his great, original material. One can tell that he had an incredible stage presence and his sarcasm was over the top and beautiful. Perhaps a bit too much goat boy in this set of jokes, but even he admits that. After a slowish start, the middle and end are by far some of the greatest moments in stand-up.

There was a brief moment of downtime in this but the rest of it was hilarious and smart, so Bill proves why he was the king.

The Goat Boy bits were painful, but, aside from that, it was alright.

Entertaining but too much goat boy and he's lost a lot of his anger at that point.

Bills best recorded performance I've seen. Kind of a 'best of' thing, but the jokes are all better developed than when they were originally recorded.

Bill Hicks is everything stand up should be - edgy, hilarious and thought provoking. It's easy to see why he is so endlessly ripped off after seeing this or anything else he's done. Wonder what he would say today..

Definitive Bill Hicks. The best out of three shows I've seen. Jokes are well organized, flow is perfect, and Hicks probably tells everything he wants to tell about his view on the world. I am not into stand-up comedies a lot, but I can connect to this guy on many levels.

Very much of a piece with his other work. Sometimes he is funny, but a lot of his stuff is pretty vile (the loathing of children, just for starts, and the pro-drugs stance, which is not at all funny if you have had friends who've been reduced or obliterated by that shit), and, in his final speech at end, comes across as even more naive and unrealistic than Charlie Chaplin did at the end of _The Great Dictator_. Not very becoming for somebody who wants everybody to think he's such a bad boy

Terminally weak stand up from the 'angry young man' of American humour. As ever, no one seems to have informed Hicks that raging against the dying of the light doesn't make you funny, doesn't make you edgy and most certainly doesn't make you socially conscious. Ill-informed, hypocritical and self-indulgent, it's hard to believe he's as well-rated as he is.
