Love the opening sequence with the horses (and "One Tin Soldier"), and so many others--like the city council meeting. I've often heard people decry this movie for its accused hypocrisy, but to me it's always been about how difficult (or actually, impossible) it is to be non-violent in a world of crazies. That's even what the Jean character seems to be saying right after her rape. One of my favorite movies of the 1970's.
