Not quite as good as the final series, but still superb.

Probably the funniest of the four Black Adders. It strikes good balance between the leads sleaziness and his cleverness.

The best of the four seasons.

I think I may like this the least of all Blackadder series, because it's more low-brow and just a bit too vulgar at the expense of good humor. There are still some good laughs though.

My favourite of the BlackAdder series, simply because this is my favourite incarnation of Blackadder himself. Loads of great characters and brilliantly written.

The best series of Black-Adder, hands down. Fry and Laurie are hilarious, and upgrading Black Adder from being a bumbling idiot to being a devilish sarcastic genius who is constantly undone by his moronic accomplices was a stroke of brilliance. Right up there as some of the best material ever produced for British TV.

Vast improvement on the first. Atkinson has fully adopted the weaselly, intelligent persona of Blackadder that works so well against the foil of Baldrick. This is what he should be remembered for, not Mr. Bean and Johnny English.

Atkinson has developed the persona he'll use for the rest of the show, and it's excellent, but everything else seems lacking.
