Apart from being dyed black, the guy still clearly has the facial features and the accent of a white American, and the fact that the illusion works for every character in the movie prevents it from working on the viewer. Worse, the writing just isn't as good as it could have been. It's a preachy movie, and although I downloaded it because Meyer Kupferman composed the music, it's no Goldstein in the soundtrack department either.

Inevitably a difficult script to write. A few great scenes: Roscoe Lee Browne is absolutely brilliant toward the beginning. Also the tete a tete with the PhD.
