I tend to explain for myself even stories like this. What's the point so see it anyhow. I found her a dreamlike war child who's got a vivid imagination. In the story was a lot of real and imaginative characters. I found it as Alice in the Wonderland kind of a teen searching her sexuality though she's still got a child's mind. The strange symbolism alienated the movie experience towards the end. Cathryn Harrison was a promus motor.

An Alice in Wonderland tale you must fully accept to understand. It's one of those movies where you have to make an agreement that says "I will not take this seriously."

Sven Nykvist as cinematographer & a stylish poster are all this has to offer. The plot is just incessantly symbolic - to the point that it becomes meaningless.

in the end too much symbolism turned into ridiculousness. i puked boredom.

Light on dialogue but heavy on surrealist, symbolic imagery. And it's a big borefest. I have no objection to non-narrative films, but something has to hook me. Otherwise it's like someone describing his dreams to you -- dreadfully dull. The few intriguing elements of the film aren't even worth mentioning, the rest is an exercise in sexually-charged non sequitur. The photography by Sven Nykvist is nice, too bad it's not in the service of more engaging (or less annoying) material.

It's an absolutely bizarre lynchian movie that's quite enjoyable though not entirely successful. Harrison is charismatic enough in the lead and the visuals are really creative, but somewhere along the way I started to find my interest waning.

A plotless dream-like movie with so much bizarre imagery it is nearly incomprehensible at the first viewing. Cathryn Harrison keeps the movie engaging, however. Like a high modernist poem, it is difficult to get through, but in retrospect, it is quite brilliant.

It's like having a very pleasant dream.
