Pretty much impossible to accurately rate given such a strong childhood connection, but it does hold up fantastically.

Amusing TV series.

The final series of Blackadder does not disappoint and features some of the strongest episodes.

Like the other Blackadder series, this one plays on the clichés of its era, but unlike the other ones, it has also got a message, namely the pacifism and anti-authoritarianism that seems obligatory for WW1 fiction. The message and the black comedy go hand in glove, and Blackadder's merciless wit comes in its right in the claustrophobic, hopeless trenches. The raving mad General Melchett is probably the most memorable of all Blackadder supporting characters. Every episode is a classic.

One of the best sitcoms ever, this final series boasts the famous 'poppy field ending' and some great episodes. Still stands out as the best thing either Atkinson or Curtis have done in their career. Fry and Palmer steal the show.

I have only seen this and the original Black Adder, but this is the one of the greatest comedy series ever. Blackadder is hysterically funny with his rye, deadpan delivery and sharp one-liners, but so is Hugh Laurie as Colthurt and Tony Robinson as Private Baldrick. The writing is terrific, the episodes have consistently great, funny premises, and each of the main actors just one-ups the other with outstanding material and delivery. A true comedy masterpiece.

Still very funny, though I felt that updating these characters to WWI era dulled the edge of some of the humor. I guess I just preferred the medieval setting.

The best Blackadder, largely because of Fry.

Blackadder series have a nice concept (following a group of characters over the course of history,with Blackadder being a conniving, evil scum). This 4th season might be the best one (2nd season is also particularly good); taking place in WWI, with brilliant wordplays and some top notch moments by some actors who have become madly popular later.
