Decent enough melodrama. The pacing is a bit slow, and I spent most of the run-time rolling my eyes at how predictable it all was... right up until the final five minutes, when it takes a couple of surprising twists. Bonus points for that. Stewart Granger puts in a decent performance as the brooding wronged-man, and Valerie Hobson sizzles as the smouldering femme fatale. (Actually I don't think it's possible to sizzle and smoulder at the same time, but you get the point.)
