Safe and tame Sandler vehicle, but the past two with Barrymore were pretty profitable, and equally inoffensive. I don't really feel like I wasted my time with this one, but an awesome singing, Terry Crews can take the credit for that.

Watchable, although entirely predictable. Sandler is always better when he drops the fart jokes and schtick humor and plays it down with a little heart added.

Blended is tolerable for the most part, but it would have benefited from a more efficient screenplay or editor which would have seen its running time chopped by about 45 minutes. It contains so many unnecessary scenes that add nothing, and character "depth" that is so shallow it barely even takes a scene to establish. It's too sincere and predictable that any drama it tries to muster feels forced, and its characters are one-note caricatures.

Searching for substance in an Adam Sandler flick is like searching for mouthwash in a hillbilly's house. Fuck Rob Schnieder. I know he wasn't in this one, but fuck him anyway.

Idiotic as it can be, there is an off charm and chemistry with Sandler and Barrymore. Neither are very good actors but they allow a natural flow to ease into their roles which is somewhat comforting. Now that they are both older they should try playing it straight without all the silly gags (rhino fucking and group dance scenes? Yes.). All in all, its not good, but don't let the Sandler haters fool you, it's watchable.

This is another recent disappointing Adam Sandler film. I enjoyed the first 2 films that Drew Barrymore and Sandler starred in. This third film staring both of them has a few cute moments and references to some other movies but overall the script is weak and there is not enough funny moments to make the film worth while to watch.

Having enjoyed both the pair's previous collaborations, I approached Blended knowing little about the film but hoping the Sandler/Barrymore partnership would be enough to pull it through. I was wrong. Their chemistry is still there but the writing really isn't, this one being aimed squarely at a young/family crowd and loaded with cheesiness and lame gags half the target audience probably won't even laugh at. I don't think I'd ever heard of this before seeing it pop up on TV. Now I know why.

Its a fun "family" orientated romantic comedy with plenty of emotional cheese and two likeable leads. No, it didnt have me in fits of hysterics but when was the last film that did that?

Good: Kevin Nealon and Jessica Lowe, as well as the Dale Steyn cameo. Bad: most of the rest of the film, in particular the ongoing joke that Hillary and Espn look like boys and reducing the entire continent of Africa to a holiday resort in what is presumably the country of South Africa. Did Coraci deliberately depict Bella Thorne portraying Hillary Friedman as a homage to Keira Knightly as Juliette Paxton? Same goes for Zak Henri portraying Jake Warnick and Robert Pattinson as Edward Cullen.

Is this objectively a good film? No. Is it enjoyable if you know what you're getting into? Yes. I came looking for ridiculous and stupid jokes and got exactly what I wanted. Being a fan of Adam Sandler in general helped. Theres several boring forced emotional scenes, but I just skipped over them to get back to the jokes.

Absolute garbage. Xenophobic and hateful lowest common denominator trash from the master of appealing to the most spiteful disgusting part of the crudest Americans. Sandler continues to crank out filth.

I actually really like the first 30 or so minutes, you know before they go to Africa, but after that, it was more miss than hit. Sandler and Barrymore have great chemistry together and they're both better than this. The film will be going along fine and then something stupid will happen out of left field and will ruin things with an unnecessary over the top juvenile moment.

The 3rd time wasn't the charm, but then again neither was the second. Sandler and Barrymore's chemistry is obvious, even 16 years after The Wedding Singer, but the material is lousy and well beneath their talent. Barrymore acquits herself quite adequately, making the best of a bad situation, but Sandler sleepwalks through his role and appears completely disinterested. Coraci is on autopilot and never establishes the right balance between comedy and drama.

I'm not a fan of any of Sandler's recent work but this film was ok. The comedy is the same stuff you would expect, most of which is shown in the trailer. The drama sequences are the more interesting parts with a decent back story to work with. Sandler shows he's a decent drama actor at times but its the overacting, shouting, annoying Sandler who is ever-present in this movie. The supporting cast are all tolerable (compared to Grown Ups) so its worth a watch and a decent date movie.

It's some of Sandler's better mainstream junk, but still compromised by too many awkward scenes, a padded runtime and his penchant for making films while going on vacation.

Some unintentionally funny moments with a few intentional ones that were quite bizarre kept the movie fairly entertaining over a typical nonsensical storyline.

Not as terrible as I thought it was going to be, and a couple moments I genuinely giggled, and even *gasp* felt a slight warmness in my heart. But it was fleeting and did not stick with me through to the end. It was aiight.

Much like 50 First Dates, the strength is in the romance and not the comedy. Unlike 50 First Dates the romance isn't particularly good. Plus, monkeys dressed as Hooters' waitresses playing "Careless Whisper."

Odd - 2014 was well within the timeframe I closely followed movie releases, yet I have literally zero memories of this movie coming out. Nevertheless, despite blatantly being in the "Adam Sandler gets paid to go on vacation, have it filmed and called a movie" subgenre, it may be the best entry from that subgenre, however little that is saying. Actually has sweet moments, attempts at character arcs, and Terry Crews being pretty funny, albeit lots of dealing with child actors.

The part with african singing group were really kind of far-fetched. And it was not about real Africa, but the way that Americans think that Africa looks like - actually this was really stupid. Anyway, it didn't make me to stop watching it, so I guess it might have been worse.

This works as a screwball comedy, but it would be easy to poke fun at it's flaws. Riding an ostrich, and "Oh my god.. Rhino" exemplifies the silly fun to be had. Much of the action and dialog is exceedingly stupid, on purpose. Some of the comedy was forced or simply fell flat, but they keep throwing spaghetti at the wall to see what would stick, and some of it does. Not a complete waste of time, somewhat worth watching, but little to rave about.

An altogether watchable movie, Sandler's least stupid in a fair few moons. The comedy, while never challenging, trades in Sandler's trademark gurning and potty humour for occasional wit; while the dramatic elements feel relatively honest and true to the story. The supporting cast are mostly strong, and get their chance to shine; co-lead Drew Barrymore continues to demonstrate her natural camaraderie with Sandler, and she is a welcome presence here, funny and charming. more @ lbxd

An awfully predictable screenplay here is especially cringe-worthy in its first act as cheap and unfunny humour attempts to grab your attention, painfully wooden dialogue establishes the main characters, and simple plot points set up the storyline in seconds. Yet the film becomes tolerable and even engaging as it progresses; the humour grows on you, and the contrived emotional peaks are undoubtedly effective, for as caricatured as the characters are, you do end up caring for them.
