Archaic and monotonous. Overacted, with frequent intertitles that are terribly written. A little disappointing for my first Valentino film, as his screen presence is non-existent. In a word: boring.

My first-ever Valentino film. After reading for decades about what a total sex symbol he was, I see this -- in a theatre -- and find that he comes off as a total mook. Also, bullfighting is not heroism, it's barbarism. If anything I feel sorry for the bulls
