Loved the premise and some of the dialogue was bewildering and hilarious (minus de Sica's gibberish, of course) but the laughably bad acting drags this down somewhat.

Okay. So my main issue, in addition to every scene not involving Dracula being boring and slow, is that our "hero" is an unlikeable, abusive rapist. I feel like on principle that I should drop the rating considerably over how much this guy abuses those girls, especially at the end. But dammit, the last 10 minutes of this movie may very well be one of the most entertaining climaxes ever put to film. When Dracula's on screen the movie is hilarious and more than makes up for the rest of the dreck.

The better of the twin Andy Warhol presents horror movies. Udo Kier doubled his arsenal of acting. Joe Dallesandro was more calm this time. The dialogue and amount of blood were fine, and did I already said that Udo Kier's reaction on bad blood was something you have to see by you own eyes. This is a vampire movie nobody topped after. I was very, very amused!

Full of hilariously stilted dialogue ("That Count Dracula is no good for anyone and he never was!"), nudity, sex, and outrageous gore, including an ax-wielding climax you've got to see to disbelieve. Look for a cameo by Roman Polanski during the pub sequence.

Plodding, unexciting and with horrible acting. On the other hand, it's sleazy, has tons of gratuitous nudity, and Udo Kier throws up blood in a bathtub. "Ze blood of dies whoeahs is killink mie!"

delightfully camply. Udo Kier is marvelous in the role. It pales a little beside Flesh for Frankenstein but is still remarkably fun.

Meh. Pales in comparison to Frankenstein, which I didn't care much for so that says alot. But Udo in the vomiting scenes was awesome I thought I was watching Trainspotting for a moment. Seconding Vittorio's thick accent too undiscernable I almost turned caps on.

A pretty fun movie, but marred by some bad acting. And casting Vittorio de Sica is a nice gesture, but his accent is too thick to comprehend (some of the actresses aren't much better in this department). Udo Kier, however, is absolutely hilarious as Dracula and all the worst parts of the movie are the scenes he's not in.

Oh Udo! Your Dracula was so sexy, so fragile, and yet so comedic. The barf scenes (yes there's more than one) are divine. The American handyman, he is so damn righteous! I want to watch this movie over and over again.

After the uneven but consistently over-the-top _Andy Warhol's Frankenstein_, Morrissey fashions one of the screen's best horror/comedy combos here. Dallesandro, likewise fresh from _Flesh_, resurfaces as a Brooklyn-accented Marxist gardener(!) while noted directors Polanski and De Sica cameo as a hostile villager and the windbag dad of a quartet of sisters, respectively. Kier makes for a semisympathetic Drac.

Horrendous acting saved by a fantastic premise/take on a mythology we all think we know already. Delightfully over-the-top, with gratuity meant to show us how perverse (and over-sexed) our society really is.
