portmanteau flicks are so hard to rate argh. Monicelli > Visconti > Fellini >> De Sica

De Sica was pretty bad, Visconti and Monicelli were meh. Really mediocre stuff but the real highlight here is Fellini's, an hilarious and surreal, obvious payback mockery at the church's attemp to ban 'La Dolce Vita'. It's his first experiment in color (of which he makes great use) and marks the point where dreams become key elements of his films. It's a shame it couldn't be released as a stand-alone as he intended because the rest of this isn't worth going through its tedious 3-hour length.

Di Sica and Fellini are okay. The other two I cannot remember at all. Brilliant BIG part of Anita Ekberg!
