I didn't get too involved with the story the dancers were telling. I just feel that dance by itself is too limited to convey complex ideas. But this film is absolutely gorgeous. With warm natural light streaming through the windows, the wonderful expressive camerawork, and the ability of the artists themselves, it's entrancing. I was captivated by the beauty of it. It doesn't work for me as a narrative, but I adored the aesthetics of it and I found all the warm-up stuff pretty interesting.

Watching a bunch of flamenco dancers rehearsing. Definitively this is not my kind of stuff.

If you have no interest in seeing a Flamenco dance play then this is not going to change your mind. If you're open to it, however, it can be a really engaging and fun time. The 20 minutes of rehearsal at the start set the musical tone, with the tapping, twirling and guitar playing, and the last 45 minutes take the elements and weave them into a beautiful tragic love story.
