Assuming everyone saw the earlier Body Snatcher movies, this completely dispenses without any explanations about the pods and what they do and instead moves full throttle forward as our heroine desperately tries to escape from a terrifying, increasingly impossible situation. Several unexpectedly grim plot twists for a '90s movie and a brilliant performance by Tilly as Anwar's young stepmom add to the enjoyment.

The worst of the three versions of this Finney classic, but still interesting. Updated to a Gulf War era army base.

Not a terrible re-make, but not one that did much new with the classic story either. Inferior to both the 1950's commie cautionary tale and VERY inferior to the 1970's classic.

"That's not my mommy!" I was not exactly surprised to see Larry Cohen and Stuart Gordon in the writing credits, but I was, however, pleasently surprised at the tension and terror generated by Ferrara. It's inferior to its two predecessors (both classics), but highlighted by great use of light/shadows, tilted camera angles and some truly eerie scenes, where you're left guessing who has been cloned and who has yet to be cloned. But wtf was Forest Whitaker doing?!

Not the wild and beautiful paranoia nightmare of the 1978 version, but a damn fine sci fi suspense thriller nonetheless.

Flawed, but still really good. Meg Tilly is terrifying. Gabrielle Anwar is stunningly beautiful and does a fantastic job. Also, the cinematography is extremely good. Not to mention the fact that these films leave one with a lot to think about. ...(read more)It doesn't really compare to the 1978 version, but is still great.

This is Ferrara working in Hollywood, and not a bad, spoiled Ferrara: he has to follow some studio agenda, of course -- the romance is absolutely silly --, but it's interesting to notice how he deals with a horror film that doesn't need to be graphic or explicit. I guess the director has never been so subtle -- and so precise with pace -- as in this Body Snatchers.

I quite enjoyed this 90's Horror/Sci-Fi that is pretty much a remake of Invasion of the Body Snatchers, and while I thought the more recent remake The Invasion was better, I still enjoyed watching this. It's a short film at just under 90 minutes and sort of feels like it, but still entertaining and I do love the concept of having aliens take over humans. Acting was so-so and it had a very 80's feel to it despite actually being early 90's, but none the less a good film I would recommend.
