This makes some typical, self-indulgent mistakes for a 90's erotic thriller that do detract significantly from the overall quality; it's still a laudably original film. Plus it's atmospheric, I like the message, and the cast is good. I have no idea what Bill Paxton was shooting for with his performance in this, but it's very entertaining. The mansion it was shot in is lovely, too.

Underestimated Jennifer Lynch movie. Superb role of (as well) underestimated Sherilyn Fenn. Julian Sands sucks though!

Well, this is what happens when an idiot tries to make an "art movie." Hilarious misogynist trash, borne almost entirely out of nepotism. Pair it with Cronenburg's Crash for a fun "good art film/bad art film" double-header.

Now that is romance that I like- coupled with obsession and deviance. It's original because it's the only feature-film that I'm aware off that deals with amputation and obsessive romantic love. Almost all the characters were unique and new. (Well, except Helena's lover in my opinion, but you can't have them all:) ). All in all it's a really fresh take on romance and love.
