Meh. Intriguing but awfully depressive--and, sadly, a wee bit amateurish. No real surprises, and it's hampered a bit by its low budget. The actors are a little stiff, the pacing's a little slow, the story's a little far-fetched, and the whole thing just looks a little drab and TV movie-ish.

Interesting watch, it's a different kind of vigilante movie. It's not your average Hollywood fare, although the ending is a bit too quickly tied up. It undermines all the motivation and rationale of the female detective. But all in all quite a good watch.

Now these are the kinds of movies we need to see more of! Revenge, but complicated by moral grey and a touch of the psychopathic. A study in the effects of trauma on the will and the psyche, beautifully nuanced, always understated (except when it needs to be explosive) and an absolutely brilliant ending. Seriously, this movie proves how tired and lame Hollywood retreads, sequels, and 'blockbusters' are and how fresh new cinema can be.

Overall a very strong revenge flick, which is brought down by horrible acting on the part of the woman playing the detective. It's a shame because the lead actor is so good, the whole cast is actually really good except for her. Perhaps just a brutal miscasting. Anyway worth seeing, as this is a very interesting take on the vigilante/revenge genre.
