Summary: Young Ralph Phillips is scolded for breaking a window and sent to his room, where he lets his imagination run riot and fantasizes he is in prison, next that he is in Africa, and then that he is a space ace pilot who single-handedly thwarts a Martian invasion. (imdb)
Cute little Looney Tunes short which spins a yarn about a young boy and his creative imagination. The boy's name is Ralph Johnson, and he has just broken a window in his home, and is sent to his room by his mother. While awaiting his father's return from work, he daydreams about life as a world famous explorer who saves his parents from cannibals, and a world famous jet pilot who saves the world from invading martians.
A little boy's fantasies while being banished to his room. The artwork is very nice in this one, but otherwise it didn't resonate with me at all. The voice Dick Beals uses for the youngster is really annoying, and a boy's imagination should be more wild than these standard scenarios. Maybe I'm just a cranky old man.
A very relatable cartoon about how children feel persecuted upon being punished by their parents, and their subsequent martyr-like emotions. Problem is, aside from this clever idea, the cartoon is fairly bland and unimaginative, although I like the slightly cruel ending.
