The writing feels a shade overwritten at times for a tone this close to naturalism; it all develops too easily. It's a flaw that makes everything seem false at times, but it's still a decent watch for the acting. A scene towards the end involving a brief photograph contains some phenomenal acting (of which there is many throughout, but this one stands out above the rest). Just one of those moments of intense discomfort as a viewer that this director excels in.

Probably the most fascinating thing about the film, amongst the torrent of opinions about the sexes, is its ending which takes everything that comes before and either, depending on how you view it, turns it on its head or takes it one step further. Certainly provocative and it raises questions and thoughts in all its provocations. It got me thinking a lot about how the sexes treat and view each other, my relationship with these viewpoints, as well as also being an engaging and amusing film.
