Hit or miss comedy.

It is actually pretty funny, but very awkward and blah at the same time. My favorite things: The fat girl, the bizarre British brother and sister, and best of all, the women shitting their gowns and puking on each other.

Passes the time. Kristen Wiig is genuinely funny throughout most of the film, but Maya Rudolph blows ass. Loved the jokes from the fat chick. In the end it was too chicky for me to really appreciate it.

A pretty average ho-hum comedy movie. A decent amount of moderate laughs along with by-the-numbers predictability and a schmaltzy ending. It's not horrible and it rarely gets boring, despite being overlong and some scenes overstaying their welcome. But it's a nice film with a likeable and flawed main character, so nothing to get angry about; it's just unremarkable.

I just loved Kristen Wiig role and also loved her story as well. The movie has some truly hilarious moments. I laughed a bunch of times. The story keeps you engaged to the end, and is fun and feels real throughout. There were some absolutely priceless moments that are quite memorable. Great cast, great story, good film making. I would really like to see more movies from Kristen Wiig's writting.

Thank goodness, a movie made for women by women and it's not insulting or (too) derivative. Melissa McCarthy was absolutely amazing. I really liked that there wasn't a cliched montage of Annie miraculously solving all her problems - she confronted some of them, but like in real life, there aren't quick easy solutions for people even after an epiphany hits them, and it was nice to see that in a movie for once.

Even though the film's target audience is women, it's funny for men too. Kristen Wiig is great here.

Being massively over rated by the critics. It is ok, not exceeding the standard Apatow fare but not falling too far below it.

It's like Sex&The City for men. And by that I mean characters are shallow, boring, stereotypes, PLUS it has as much shit, vomit and sex jokes as you could possibly want. Only small portion of this film could be described as 'chick-flick', but that's the part I found worthwhile. Wiig is very likeable. Some actual jokes (not involving bodily fluids) were alright, so yea, it's watchable. I hope women actually doesn't relate to this film in any way...

I cannot think of a movie where I gave less of a shit about the characters. I do not understand why critics love this so much.

This movie had a shit-ton of hype behind it, which I think makes me instinctively skeptical. However. There were some definite solid laughs (the "Fight Club" line made me lose it) and something of a story to it. 90% of the comedy came from Melissa McCarthy, but, she is so damn funny that it really makes up for something of an un-funny cast outside of her, Wiig, and O'Dowd. But it's a good female buddy comedy - it does the things that, if Sex & The City did them, it wouldn't be such a trainwreck.

Quite laughable with some kick-ass jokes and hilarious Chris O'Dowd, though it bounces on the thin line of getting spoiled by tons of stupid sex jokes.

Don't call it a chick flick, just call it a comedy. Women everywhere should enjoy a protagonist who doesn't have a perfect job and a beautiful, inexplicably well dressed apartment. She drives a shitty car, her mom is an idiot, and she bends over backwards to keep banging a pretty-boy asshole. That sounds like a lot of women I know.

I must say I am disappointed. It has several hilarious gags with long stretches of somewhat dull scenes of Annie's downward spiral into self-pity that is only tolerable because of Wiig's adorableness. Still worth watching for the good parts.

A marriage of genuine characters, gross out gags, and pathos, Bridesmaids is a female-driven comedy that refuses to be boxed in as Kristen Wiig emerges as a real star.

Meh, had to really work at it to finish this movie over a few days. Was hoping for better, but only laughed once or twice. Raunchy chick flick, not for me, or dudes in general, or most chicks.

Well...let's see...it's written by an SNL member...Strike One! It's really, painfully trying to be The Hangover, only with estrogen. Strike Two! Just like SNL in the last 15 years, it thinks it's clever and funny, but it's only fooling the masses into wasting a little of their hard earned cash. Strike Three! You're out!

It's maybe not quite the revolutionary film that some tried to claim when it came out, but it's undoubtedly a great comedy. The effort put in to developing all the characters is what sets it apart from most movies like it. Wiig excels in the lead role, nailing the comedy just as much as she does the dramatic parts. The breakout star is Melissa McCarthy, and for good reason. She's hillarious, and dominates every second she's on screen.

Getting an Oscar nomination for defecating in a sink is weird, isn't it?

The comedy doesn't really work, relying too much on stereotypes and gross out humor; but the human interactions feel surprisingly genuine.

Has a good spread of laughs, & is carried brilliantly by the supurb Wiig, who on her own earns this movie most of its marks. There is a distinct lack of purpose, with sub-plots forgotten about, & focus on the bridemaids group dynamic sadly drifting towards average rom-com fare towards the end. McCartney essentially plays a female Galifianakis, which worked well enough! It was refreshing to see a female driven comedy that didn't fall into & play on all the same old marketing stereotypes & gags.

Pretty effin funny. Some scenes went a little too long and it strayed into rom-com territory a few too many times, but damned if I didn't laugh at it harder than say The Hangover or Hot Tub Time Machine. Bring on the new wave of female comedians, I say.

Consistently funny, but never hilarious. Even if it follows some common tropes it's distinctly different from both typical romantic comedies and male buddy comedies, and for that semblance of originality I give it credit.

this is not just a plain chick flick. and it is fakin' entertaining!

The girl version of 2000's guy comedies, which just doesn't work. Too much stuff going on with too little focus, mostly dull, often repetitive and a couple of times even disgusting. I'm seriously confused by the supposed target audience, if there ever was one.
