This is easily one of the funniest films of 2011, and if you think it's just for the girls then you're dead wrong because it's got enough for the guys as well. Kristin Wiig is the stand-out in the talented cast but Melissa McCarthy is also a scene-stealer as Megan as is Rose Byrne as bitchy Helen. It's one of those films full of laughs thanks to likable characters and creative ideas from the writers. Overall it's one not to be missed, and you're bound to have a good laugh with it.

Overlong girlish answer to "The hangover", led by a couple of SNL thespians, and sharing some of the sketch-led humour of the TV show.

I was not able to stand more than 25 minutes of this film, and i can watch almost anything. I hated every character, hated what they did, hated what they said, and that makes for a film that you don't want to watch. Avoid this film at all costs.

Unbelievably overrated. It has a few scenes that are memorably hysterical and well done, especially the whole plane sequence, which is the highlight of the film, but the wild swings into depressingly serious territory, the unfunny gross-out humor, and the whole way the film is stitched together render it very disjointed and painfully average overall.

While I didn't really laugh laugh at this, I found it to be a well balanced comedy. More humorous and hilarious Wiig gave a great performance and Chris O'Dowd was a fantastic male lead (as close as you get in this anyway). All the characters and performances were realistic. And most importantly it didn't suck, which generally happens with wedding themed comedies (see: 27 Dresses which is awful)

Mas drama que comedia. No entiendo bien a que publico se dirige, porque el humor es claramente masculino, y la trama es la tipica comedia-romantica femenina, pero atravesada por un relato dramatico de la protagonista.

Funny in spurts, but very poorly plotted. Wiig is a good character actress but isn't relatable enough to carry a film like this. Also a little strange that the female empowerment movie of 2012 is resolved by the main character taking up baking and finding a good man.

If only Sex and the City was like this! Extremely funny and filled to the brim with cheap laughs, which often is a critique but here it's meant as a huge compliment. Wiig carries the movie with great charm and world class timing. The mistress of awkwardness. McCarthy is a ever present scene stealer. I could go on, but I wont't. A great ensemble cast, where all participants bring something to the table. If The Hangover defined the bro-genre, then Bridesmaids is the definition of the Sister flick.

This movie had a shit-ton of hype behind it, which I think makes me instinctively skeptical. However. There were some definite solid laughs (the "Fight Club" line made me lose it) and something of a story to it. 90% of the comedy came from Melissa McCarthy, but, she is so damn funny that it really makes up for something of an un-funny cast outside of her, Wiig, and O'Dowd. But it's a good female buddy comedy - it does the things that, if Sex & The City did them, it wouldn't be such a trainwreck.

The girl version of 2000's guy comedies, which just doesn't work. Too much stuff going on with too little focus, mostly dull, often repetitive and a couple of times even disgusting. I'm seriously confused by the supposed target audience, if there ever was one.

Has a good spread of laughs, & is carried brilliantly by the supurb Wiig, who on her own earns this movie most of its marks. There is a distinct lack of purpose, with sub-plots forgotten about, & focus on the bridemaids group dynamic sadly drifting towards average rom-com fare towards the end. McCartney essentially plays a female Galifianakis, which worked well enough! It was refreshing to see a female driven comedy that didn't fall into & play on all the same old marketing stereotypes & gags.

A pretty average ho-hum comedy movie. A decent amount of moderate laughs along with by-the-numbers predictability and a schmaltzy ending. It's not horrible and it rarely gets boring, despite being overlong and some scenes overstaying their welcome. But it's a nice film with a likeable and flawed main character, so nothing to get angry about; it's just unremarkable.

Comedically, just flop after flop. The very bland humour never committed itself to any extreme of wit, wordplay, absurdity, slapstick, grossness, self-deprecation, stereotyping, or any other device that could have made me laugh. However, where Bridesmaids really excelled was in Kristen Wiig's portrayal of Annie, one of the most fantastically well-rounded, realistic, interesting and sympathetic characters in recent memory. Watching her tragic downfall was compelling and emotionally involving.
