It was too aimless and dry to really make an impression on me. Worth a look for Murray I suppose, but all in all it's rather forgettable.

I really liked this. The pace is a little slow but all in all it's worth watching and owning.

Not without some compensations, but the longer I live, the clearer it becomes that "cool" and me just aren't getting along. At least it arrests the downhill slide I had observed in the other five movies I had hitherto seen by this director.

A VERY subtle coming-of-age story of an older lady's man who must visit his old flames after discovering he may have fathered a child from one of them. More Don Quixote than Don Juan, the film offers no answers, but has a '70's ending of apparent moral salvation without ever pressing for a pat, enjoyable finish. A sad existential journey into one man's past worth watching through its methodical pacing.

Bill Murray is very good as playing dark roles where he is sort of depressed about how his life has gone.

Seriously lame, despite a great set up and an actor/comedian I like a great deal. I honestly can't say how so much potential could be wasted so efficiently - that I suppose is the genious of the screenwriter and director.

As much as a Jim Jarmusch film can reasonably be expected to be, this is a pretty formulaic film. However, it's lent a startling emotional starkness by an exceptional performance by Bill Murray as well as a philosophical depth rooted in its wholly existentialist outlook summed up profoundly in its closing moments.
