Kind of a black version of Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, with a conscientious bent to it. I find Poitier to be a rather dull actor, but Belafonte makes up for it with his eccentric performance, and the two play off each other nicely. And I always appreciate Ruby Dee (and wish she had more screen time). It's really a pretty good Western, loose but highly watchable with some entertaining moments. Benny Carter's country-funk score is a treat, and the film is shot quite nicely.
