Ford's use of onscreen space, vistas, and the countryside are a joy. But the flighty, regressive female as the narrative center drives me up the fourth wall, to where concentrating on anything else is a chore.

Ford's expert use of the camera is evident here, already having taken a liking to framing his characters in doorways and other narrow spaces. He also includes a couple of especially well-edited sequences that serve to build tension and drama nicely.
