Vincent Gallo is a misogynist and self-indulgent hack. While the character study and family relationship interaction is difficult and challenging in a good way, the MPDG (manic pixie dream girl) stereotype of Ricci is just awful. Add in a cop-out ending and a great movie is wasted.

Don't think a film has ever bothered less with coherent dialogue/narrative structure as the film seems to be an appendage to Gallo's subconscious redeeming quest for a past often only hinted at, with Gallo in complete control on and behind the screen. I thought about doing something else 20 minutes in, but I'm happy I didn't. The scene where Gallo takes a leak and moments that follow seem to be the crux for keeping me in my seat. A stylized experience from an unique individual. Recommended !!!

It was like a family movie on amphetamines. Lights, angles, music... everything was genuinely bizarre. With a great cast, acting was the forte of the movie, and it made me feel that all of them enjoyed acting characters with short fuses. Buffalo Billy with his with blue shirt and red boots inadvertently scores.

Vicent Gallo really hates women. Ricci is wooden in this film but it really doesn't detract much. Everything is so odd and uncomfortable. It seems to be taking place 20 years ago. See it once as there isn't really any other films that feel like this out there. Huston and Corrigan are great.

Finding comedy in the most unfunny of things, and the unfunny in the usually comical - Vincent Gallo's quirky, eyebrow-raising "Buffalo '66" can be seen as a self-satire on Gallo's part and as a self-aware exercise in smugness. No matter what, it is genius scene after genius scene that builds the film up to the point of where the audience (and possibly even Gallo) has no idea what the point is, and that's what makes it so enjoyably brilliant.

While Vincent Gallo may play one of the most irritating characters ever (really, he is just playing himself), Buffalo '66 is quite a wonderful experience. Insecurities played out to perfection in this definition of art house.
